Retired Senior & Volunteer Program (RSVP)

A A A

Did you know that volunteerism is good for the heart? It increases your self-esteem and confidence as well as lessens stress and depression. In fact, studies show that people who volunteer live longer, healthier and happier lives!

MaineGeneral RSVP (Retired Senior & Volunteer Program) engages persons 55 and older in meaningful volunteer services that meet critical community needs and enrich the lives of volunteers. Our service area is Kennebec, Somerset and Franklin Counties.

We work to match a volunteer's life experiences, skills and interests with identified community needs in a local nonprofit organization or a signature program in one of our focus areas (see below).

As a result, MaineGeneral RSVP makes a difference in people's lives and in the community.

RSVP is a part of Senior Corps and is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency that improves lives, strengthens communities, and fosters civic engagement through service and volunteering.
