The Maine Dartmouth Collaborative Care Center (MDCCC), located at MaineGeneral's Seton Campus, 30 Chase Avenue, Waterville, helps people of all ages manage simple to complex health issues.
We promote health by involving body, mind and spirit. Our medical staff partners with patients to learn their health short- and long-term health goals and develop care plans to meet them.
Our Approach to Care
Our board-certified osteopathic physicians are specially trained in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), a hands-on treatment that addresses the whole body to improve health.
OMM focuses on how the body's structure and function work together. It also looks at how physical health can be influenced by or can influence a person's emotional or spiritual nature.
Doctors of osteopathic medicine (DO) consider the whole person when diagnosing and treating patients. They have thorough medical training in all body systems and believe the body's natural self-healing mechanisms help restore well-being and maintain health.
Osteopathic manipulation can be applied to every area of the body to treat a wide range of conditions. At MDCCC, we offer:
- Treatment of acute and chronic pain
- Newborn evaluation and treatment for issues including basic birth trauma, feeding problems, head shape and other concerns
- Care for pregnant women during and after delivery for better health care and pregnancy support
- Treatment of sports injuries
- Concussion and traumatic brain injury
- Support for chronic disease conditions
Collaboration is Key
We work with other professionals in the community to make sure patients get all the care they need to nurture body, mind and spirit. Many resources are available to help you feel better and stay well.
We will tell your primary care provider about programs and services we think will help you. Examples of community resources include:
- Movement therapy like yoga or tai chi
- Nutritional and dietary guidance
- Physical therapy
- Massage therapy
- Orthopaedists including spine specialists
- Pain management groups
