CarePartners Program

CarePartners is a large group of doctors, hospitals and other health care providers who have volunteered to provide many health care services you may need, including:

  • Regular check-ups and care when you are sick

  • Prescriptions medications you can afford

  • Lab, X-ray and hospital services at no cost

  • Referrals to services and resources


CarePartners is made possible by the commitment of all participating community health care providers.

It is administered by Maine Medical Center in Portland, the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville, Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta and St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay.

Payment Information

If you become a CarePartners member, you will not pay more than $10 for each office visit; prescription co-payments vary range from $10 to $25. Lab, X-ray and other hospital services are provided at no charge.

Obtaining Services

To get the services offered through CarePartners, you must become a member of the program. To join:

  • Call the toll-free number (877) 626-1684, (207) 626-1684 in Augusta or (207) 872-4697 in Waterville.

  • Answer a few quick questions to see if you may be eligible.

  • If eligible, you will be given an appointment to come in for an interview to enroll in the program. You will be asked to bring in proof of income and other documents.

Eligibility Guidelines

To be eligible to receive services through the CarePartners program, you must:
  • Be between the ages of 19 and 64

  • Live in one of the cities where CarePartners has offices or the towns surrounding them (Augusta, Damariscotta, Portland and Waterville), or have a primary care provider in our service area.

  • Not be eligible for MaineCare or Medicare

  • Have countable assets less than $10,000 for a single adult or $12,000 for a couple or family
     
  • CarePartners' eligibility guidelines are set at 175 percent of the federal poverty level.
