Virginia Chapin, PA-C

The medical assistant lacked knowledge about women's health. She had not read my record. She said she didn't have my recent mammogram. When I mentioned it would have been sent to my PCP at Maine General. She asked about last menstruation and when advised about medically induced menopause she didn't seem to understand. She didn't know having ovaries and tubes removed would mean a person did not menstruate. It didn't seem she had heard of people having ovaries removed without a hysterectomy. It felt as though was educating the MA. I would expect a medical assistant working in a women's healthcare office to be more aware , particularly since breast cancer affects so many. I was pleased with Virginia Chaplin PA. She was knowledgeable.

Virginia was very, very nice, made me very comfortable. The whole office staff was very nice. I'm usually running high on my blood pressure. When I go to the doctors, my blood pressure was normal. They made me very relaxed. I'm looking forward to go back for my three-month maintenance.

The staff was very polite, very helpful. The provider told me all about my health issue and treated me very, very carefully, prescribed what I had to do about the problem and what to expect if I have a next stage to it. So she's really wonderful and I'm pleased that I'm able to see her and get her help. Thank you.

My wait time was 45 minutes past my appointment time.

Virginia Chapin is one of the most caring and kindest gynecological practitioners I have ever had care for me.

The doctor was the nicest one I have ever seen. She took her time and was able to complete what others hadn't been able to do.

I had the doctor named Virginia and she was very kind, empathetic, and truly listened to my concerns and needs. She gave me her recommendation but then asked me genuinely what I would like to do. It was the first time in a long time I felt like I had some autonomy in the medical field.

She's been great the only thing that's hard is not setting appts for next visit well I am there and having to wait for someone to call to make it

As usual, Virginia is excellent. She listens and offers recommendations based on what I'm comfortable doing and doesn't chastise me when I make poor decisions regarding my health. This was honestly the best experience I've had thus far with MGH OBGYN.

I think the doctors here are amazing. However I've had such awful experiences from Maine general as a corporate medical facility. I couldn't reschedule my appointment easily, couldn't pay my copay beforehand, and you don't allow doctors the ability to say how expensive things may be. Healthcare in this country is DISGUSTING and I'm sick of billionaires (like the one that's the CEO of Maine general, I'm sure) taking advantage of patients who NEED medical care but can't afford it. I'm sick of not being able to get the care I need because my insurance refuses to cover it even though coverage went up by $100 a month. So no, I will not recommend Maine general to anyone because it's ethically disgusting how corporations have made a profit off of how unaffordable needed medical care is. Staff, you're doing a great job, even though you can't give your patients the care they need and deserve because we live in such a "flawed" system. And I know the system abuses you too.

Hello, I am very happy with Dr. Virginia, and she is very caring and careful and gentle, and I really appreciate it. My overall opinion of the hospital is that we can't get appointments with many of your specialties, especially neurology, rheumatology, and a number of others. we've had to go elsewhere. And we're very upset that the rehab center has closed and very upset that the gift shop was closed, really enjoyed that gift shop. So that I'm sure it's all cost cutting, but it's very annoying.
