Rebecca Spear, DO, is a board-certified internal medicine physician and fellowship-trained in hospice and palliative medicine and geriatric medicine. She also is a faculty member with the Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency (MDFMR) Program, where she serves as director of MDFMR's Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr. Spear also serves as medical director of MaineGeneral's Geriatric Inpatient Consult Service.

Due to various circumstances, some in and some out of my control, my appointment wasn't as soon as I wanted. Not a complaint; just a comment. Every one of the team was kind, friendly and informative of why they were interacting with me. I was treated with great consideration. I was especially impressed with Dr. Rebecca Spear: her style and approach were were perfect for me. I couldn't have asked for better psycho-social treatment.

The entire staff was incredibly compassionate and respectful to my 88 year old mother, but they were also very supportive of me, her daughter. I feel very fortunate that my mother will be able to be treated by this practice because they are providing exceptional care for the elderly.

I found it just a very positive appointment. I felt people were really listening to me, looking at me in my eyes, getting the conversation right, accurate, everything. And I felt they left room for me to add more or ask questions. And they knew my background, my report, my medical report, just amazingly well. They really paid attention. So I would recommend this program to anybody.

Dr. Spear and her staff are very friendly, kind, understanding and knowledgeable. They took the time to listen to what we had to say. We did not feel rushed in any way. I would definitely recommend Dr. Spear to anyone.
