The staff were courteous, efficient, and thorough with their examination. Dr Rapuano was very thorough and understandable with his diagnosis and description of what was happening with my eyes and he provided sensible recommendations as to what I can expect for the future and how to proceed over the next year and beyond. I was very impressed and appreciative of his clarity and rapport in his interaction with me.

Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. They introduced themselves, plus each explainef each step of my care throughout my stay there.

I couldn't have found anyone kinder and more capable than Dr Rapuano to monitor my eye care needs related to severe glaucoma. He always includes my husband and in the decision making process. Professional with a calm understanding manner. He has been responsive and caring when several eye issues came up, and fit me in to be seen, or consulted on the phone. I'm thankful for the care I've received at the office, and all the staff are always very welcoming.

Dr. Rapuano is an extremely skilled physician. He also cares about the needs of patients beyond their immediate need of his expertise. He takes all the time the patient needs to feel completely confident with his recommendations.

The entire staff from reception to doctor to checkout was courteous, professional and pleasant. I checked no on the survey on the question about whether or not the staff knew about my medical history. I was a new patient, so there was no way they could know my medical history. They did ask about my history during my appointment, though.

Dr. Rapuano is an outstanding ophthalmologist and has been well trained. I have been under his care now for three years and so has my husband. We both have had the best experience of any other ophthalmologist to date. We only hope that he continues to practice at Maine General Eye Care because he is a star among the rest in Central Maine. He is a keeper!

well the facility was very clean it was very uh... professional acting the staff the doctors were very sharp uh... knew what they were doing and uh... far as improvements go uh... i had an acute situation i needed care immediately and it took me two-and-a-half weeks to get in and my my acute issue had calmed down and so, therefore, I wasn't getting the type of analysis I needed. The staff and especially the doctor looked so stressed out in terms of, okay, I'm really going fast here because I've got another patient. They're obviously overwhelmed. You can tell. My appointment was for 8:00 AM , I didn't see the Dr until 9 AM and didn't get out until 9:30, check out person wanted another 10 - 15 mins to process my payment. I was already late getting to my next appointment! I am disappointed that they didn't accept VSP! Paid a co pay for the visit $38. Plus $77 dollars for each eye to be operated.

I would like to commend your medical staff on very good treatment.

Everything was fine except for the wait to see the doctor. It was very lengthy. I didn't actually keep track, but I got a lot done on my phone. So I think it was close to half an hour, which is unusual. And the appointment actually ended up being very short. I'm about an hour away. Spent a half an hour waiting, maybe 10 minutes in the room, and then another hour home. It took longer than usual because of summer construction. And that's the only reason that I gave only an aid as far as recommending because you're really out of my area, but he was the closest specialist. So if I ever knew of someone who needed a specialist, I would recommend you, but just in general, you're a little bit out of the way.

I appreciate Dr. Rapuano referring me when the best option for my particular condition was better dealt with elsewhere.

It felt rushed through my exam. He was kinda rough putting eye drops in my eye. I don't feel like I got an accurate eye exam.

Dr. Rapuano's staff were wonderful to the person from check-in to the MA that worked with me or the eye care professional that worked with me before I saw the doctor to the checkout staff. They were all fantastic. Very personable, asked questions, used my name, encouraging, really appreciated them. Dr. Rapuano, on the other hand, was a bit terse and a little quick. I just felt like it was, I don't know, I just felt like he was really kind of quick and a little impersonal. The bottom line is I think that he gave me what I needed for information. I will follow up in a few months and go on my way. So I guess that's the most important thing. Thanks.

I had a great experience

When the doctor came in, he introduced himself and told me that my doctor recommended me and proceeded to tell me of her findings. He didn't ask me what i was experiencing nor did he give me a chance to be included in the decision of not having surgery. He told me that I didn't need to come back and there was no need to have my eyes dilated as well. He was very RUDE. He said that's it and I could go.

Dr. Rapuano is an excellent ophthalmologist. We are fortunate to have his expertise here at Maine General, especially with the laser technology treatments I received for PCO in both eyes. He has a gift and restored my vision. I am most grateful.

I have an extremely rare eye condition or brain condition and I felt like the doctor was very knowledgeable and very honest when he didn't know something. I was extremely impressed with the doctor and would 1000% go back to him and recommend him to anyone. The nursing staff was also great. One of the nurses didn't seem to know about my condition so I don't know if she hadn't looked at my chart. But either way, everyone seemed excellent and I want to thank you guys all for the information that I got there. Thank you. Bye.

The doctors and the staff were very thorough, all except for one exception. They didn't do my eye exam for a prescription for glasses, which I thought that I was going in there for because my doctor is out with cancer, and the doctor said he kind of spaced it and forgot that that doctor was out with cancer, and that was one reason why I was referred to this facility to have my treatment done there. Other than that, I was pleased with the care I got.

The doctor did much to make me comfortable and spent all the time necessary to answer my questions and make me feel that his diagnosis, although I don't like it, is accurate. He outlined how I should go from here to address it.

Hi, so I don't normally do these surveys, but the experience that I had with Dr. Rapuano was out of this world. That man is a gem. He spent a lot of time with me on a day that I was not my best. I had a traumatic eye injury and he took the time to thoroughly investigate, make sure that I was comfortable, give me all the information that I needed, and more importantly, reassure me that everything was going to be okay. I left there feeling so much better than I came in feeling. He's amazing. Thank you.
