Dr. Gillis joined MaineGeneral Surgery and MaineGeneral Medical Center's active staff in August 2018 after completing a plastic surgery residency at Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, and a hand and wrist microsurgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Certified in plastic surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Dr. Gillis is eligible for certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He provides plastic and reconstructive surgery at both the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta and the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville. In addition to a wide array of skills in general plastic and reconstructive surgery, he has special interests in wrist and hand reconstruction, peripheral nerve and brachial plexus and microsurgical reconstruction.
