Jonathan Thomas, MD

I was a new patient for Dr. Thomas. I could tell he had reviewed my medical records prior to my visit. We made a game plan prior to me leaving for the winter down south. I didn't feel rushed at all during my visit.

I like Dr. Thomas, he is professional, listens, speaks with facts, validates, and is encouraging.

Very impressed with entire staff at this office. From check in to check out and everyone in between.

As the mother of the patient, I felt that the doctor looks at the whole picture and wants to help the patient.

I love the friendly staff at Maine General Neuropathy. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.

We are glad that Dr Thomas is part of Me General as my Neurologist.

My visit was more about how he couldn't help wouldn't help and making recommendations from other specialties

It was my first meeting with Dr. Thomas. Truthfully, I was disappointed. He made it clear he isn't a specialist on my diagnosis. He gave me five medication options and told me to research their pros and cons and decide which one I wanted and let him know. He had no preference. Seriously? I'm an educated person and I'm capable of doing research, but I'll bet he has better sources than I do. He seemed to be limited on time for my visit. I didn't even have enough time to think of what to ask him on each medication and he obviously didn't have time either. I've done my research and I'm lost as to what to pick. I don't know what it's like to get infusions, how long it takes, where it can happen, and if the scheduling is convenient or not. I don't know how to go about having a conversation with him now and I don't think he's interested.

Dr took a portion of the symptoms on my first visit and decided on a diagnosis then. When asked about the remainder of my symptoms that did not fit his diagnosis he said "I didn't say that was all that you had". I expressed concerns about sudden changes in breathing and heart, and finding the cause. He said I didn't need any more tests and that he didn't agree with what other doctors had said or how the scans had been read. That the radiologists will list everything possible to cover themselves. Would not put in the order for the test ordered through Boston that I couldn't schedule because it was ordered by a doctor outside of their group. Said he'd put in a referral for acupuncture. I Felt not only ignored but talked down to. If you listen to his recording of the visit you will hear me processing the disappointment and frustration of the visit , saying never mind it doesn't matter and finally just giving up trying to be heard by someone who had no interest in trying to help me

Dr. Thomas did more physical tests and although the time of him being in my room for only 20 mins was short, he made me feel like I had actually seen a neurologist. I am glad he seem to care about me and my tremors and doing his best to determine the cause.

Dr. Thomas was an absolute DELIGHT to see! He was so thorough, he took his time with me, I didn't feel rushed. He knew my history before meeting with me. I felt I was in such capable hands. I will definitely recommend him to my friends and family.

Dr. Thomas is such a wonderful doctor. He is the best and I so appreciate him. I had a stroke in 2014 and his treatment is the most effective I have ever had. Thanks to him I am mostly headache free to live my life

Hi, I need, I don't know if I had an appointment today or not at 11 o'clock. My counselor, my worker, has down 11 to 1, but it don't say anything else. If I miss this appointment, I'm going to hear that.

Stop saying how did we do is how Jonathan Thomas did. He was perfect, he was wonderful, he was helpful, he was friendly, he was nice, he was polite, nothing bad should be said about the man. He was wonderful. So good to have a good doctor again, finally.

Dr Thomas was incredibly patient and kind. Although I have something that isn't curable and somewhat rare, he did some research before, asked questions and didn't assume anything. He gave suggestions, but didn't push. He took our lead. When he used terms I wasn't familiar with he explained them when I asked. Very grateful and appreciative of Dr. Thomas.

This was my first appointment with Dr. Thomas. He had definitely done his "homework" as to my medical history as he knew of my previous diagnoses. I felt he provided a thorough examination and ordered further testing as well as a follow up appointment.

Difficult to determine which window to go to upon arrival for check-in. Staff must know you are standing in front of their window, but they ignore you vs. advising which window you should go to. (No sign indicating otherwise)

This was my first time meeting Dr. Thomas. We are very lucky to have such a knowledgeable and friendly person at Mainegeneral. For the first time in years I am looking forward for my next visit. Thank you Dr. Thomas!!!

Dr. Thomas is a new doctor to me. He seemed to know what was going on with me. He had information that I needed and he was fine. Hope he continues to stay with us. Thank you. Bye.

It should more clear about the address of the neurology clinic. We were given the wrong suite number and entered this building about halfway down. We walked back and forth and finally asked a person in one of the offices and redirected to a blue sign in the sides the road that side Neurology but really did not have a suite number but found the clinic at the end of the building. We were giver either suite 42 or 44 instead of 50 and did not see suites easily displayed above entrance doors.

I felt a scense of relief and support from my doctor and from the hospital staff. And was happy to hear that I wouldn't have to come back. Thank you ?

Dr.Thomas,is excellent,great listener,tells me my options, explains things very well,,,and makes eye contact with you,a sure sign of caring,,I like him,,,and trust him...

Dr. Thomas had looked at my record and had made a plan which the old neurologist never really did. He had done more in one appointment than I had had with the old provider since 2019. I was made to feel that what I experiencing was real and that we could try to do something to change it. Thank you for taking the time to make a real plan and validating that I shouldn't have to continue to live with symptoms without trying new things.

My husband and myself like Dr. Jonathan Thomas very much, he is to the point and explains things well enough for us to understand. We both have a tremendous amount of confidence in Dr. Thomas.

Dr Thomas was very thorough. This was my first time meeting with him and I was very impressed and glad he is taking on my care.

I was unsure where to check out and was embarrassed by the woman's response and reaction to me. I was told to go to check out window. I didn't realize I had to go back to waiting room to do this. Thankfully the nurse heard this and helped me. The only time I have been in this facility I was in pain and non weight bearing from surgery and dealing with my mother's illness and death. I barely remember anything from my last visit.

Dr. Thomas has been a bright addition to MGMC. He's caring, listens & doesn't make me feel less than. He's willing to work with me on my meds & changing to other meds that may work better. So far he's batting a 1000.

I thought Dr. Thomas was very thorough. He took the time to find out what happened to me on the day of my seizure, and how I have been doing since. He also made a couple of suggestions I could try, and made a follow up appointment. He listened to what I had to say, and did not rush through the appointment. Very appreciative!

Dr. Thomas gave me a very thorough exam. In my visit with him I learned more about my condition and the tests necessary to determine what can be done to improve it.

I was very disappointed he should have known my medical history like asking me he doesn't know why I was even there I am gonna try to follow my previous neurologist much more knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with

New Dr appeared knowledgeable about offering med changes

Jonathan Thomas was dismissive, didn't ask me any questions at all about my health, did not examine me despite me telling him I had two additional falls and how much pain I was in, he sat there nonchalantly as if he didn't care at all, which I don't think he did. He told me I should just go back to Hospice because my medical records show that trying to get PT or OT to help strengthen me and reduce my pain wasn't gonna really make a difference. Because you know you might have to have surgery. I told him I'm not wanting surgery. I just need help not to be an excruciating pain. This doctor refuse to do anything. He said go back to Hospice. The doctor at Hospice said because of these two falls, and because how articulate you are and how he believed that I could benefit from finding out what's wrong and so it could be treated enough, so I'm not in excruciating pain. But this Dr. Jonathan Thomas I would never recommend him to anyone and I've already told numerous people never to go to your office. I even asked the worst the checkout receptionist if there was another neurologist there. This guy is just collecting a paycheck. He did not help me. I was so upset when I left because of his way he was speaking to me that I was suicidal. I'm not suicidal because I talked it over with someone but he made it sound like you only got a couple weeks to live anyway. But never even asked me about my pain ever not one time. Terrible terrible thing.

The doctor was amazing. He explained everything that he was going to do with my nerve testing. He was very gentle, explained what was going to happen and how it would hurt or would not hurt. s/o to Rheumatology check-in person. The one neuro window was closed and the other inaccessible to me. Rheumatology didn't bat an eye and accommodated my check in needs.
