Cassandra "Casey" Sanko, MD, is a fellowship-trained shoulder and elbow surgeon who specializes in treating both operative and nonoperative injuries and chronic conditions affecting the shoulder, upper arm and elbow. She performs shoulder and elbow arthroplasty (anatomic and reverse total shoulder replacements, elbow replacements) as well as arthroscopic and open shoulder and elbow repairs. She also performs fracture fixation of the clavicle, shoulder, upper arm and elbow. Dr. Sanko joined MaineGeneral Orthopaedics in September 2023 after completing her shoulder and elbow surgery fellowship program.

Dr. Sanko is pleasant and professional. She listens to the patient and takes into account their concerns. She was helpful to me in planning the next steps in my treatment plan, and we set up an appointment to move forward. I'm happy to have her as my provider.

All staff, registers, MA and X-ray were very professional and polite. Dr Sanko was very knowledgeable, listen to my concerns and we worked out a treatment plan that was acceptable to both of us. Would recommend her.

Dr. Sanko is first rate! She's kind and caring and an amazing surgeon. Today I have about 90-95 percent use of my shoulder and am pain free. I owe it all to Dr Sanko. Amazing person and surgeon!

Best surgical experience I have had. No pain, fully informed in pre and post op expectations. Nerve block made such a difference in this surgery. PACU staff were fabulous pre and post op.

My entire experience with the staff at Maine General has been enjoyable. When I arrive for my appointment, I feel that I am being treated with courtesy, compassion, and respect. I cannot speak highly enough about the Othopedic team. From my consultation with Dr. Dunlop, to imaging, to Dr. Sanko, everyone is absolutely fantastic!! 5 star service!

I had a very nice experience. The secretary that registered me for my appointment. Was very polite, and courteous. My orthopedic surgeon, meeting her for the 1st time. Answered my questions, and put me at ease, about my upcoming procedure. I definitely!! Would recommend them to anyone, looking for a n orthopedic surgeon.

The initial receptionist was somewhat rude when I came in to check in for my appointment. I walked up and he said, "you're going to have to give me a minute" Another receptionist motioned me over and checked me in.
