- This continuing education course is designed to provide athletic trainers with a comprehensive review of three key aspects in the field of orthopedic rehabilitation and sports medicine: the meniscus, the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), and advancements in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, particularly focusing on fertilized or regenerative methods.
- Athletic trainers will gain an in-depth understanding of these critical structures, their common injuries in athletes, and the latest surgical and non-surgical treatment protocols, including novel regenerative techniques. By exploring evidence-based research and clinical findings, this course aims to bridge the education gap in understanding how to optimize treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play timelines for athletes with these injuries. As new techniques are developed for any type of orthopedic surgery, the athletic trainer should know the common techniques of the surgeons locally to their practice and use this knowledge to make the best appropriate referral.
