MaineGeneral Medical Center (MGMC) recently welcomed the arrival of Dan Vick, MD, as the medical center’s chief medical officer (CMO) and announced the appointment of Lisa Belisle, MD, as assistant chief medical officer (ACMO).

Dr. Vick is a Minnesota native and graduated from the University of Virginia and the Medical College of Virginia. He completed a transitional internship and pathology residency in the National Capital Consortium military training program and then was stationed at Ft. Belvoir, VA and Ft. Gordon, GA. He spent several years in private practice in Syracuse, NY.

After earning a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Regis University, he was appointed CMO of a small hospital in upstate New York and later served as vice president for medical affairs with Ascension Health in Indiana. He earned a doctorate degree in health administration from Central Michigan University (CMU) during that time.

Most recently, Dr. Vick was on the faculty in the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program at CMU, serving as lead faculty for the health care finance course, capstone course coordinator, and the lead for obtaining specialty accreditation for the MHA program.

Dr. Vick’s experience includes leadership involvement in organized medicine activities at the local, state and national levels and legislative advocacy experience. He is the author or co-author of nearly 20 peer-reviewed articles, as well as several op-ed publications on medical websites. He and his wife, Anne Marie, are the parents of twin daughters who are currently in college.

Dr. Belisle grew up in Yarmouth and graduated from Bowdoin College and the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She completed a family medicine residency at Maine Medical Center, as well as a preventive medicine fellowship at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester and a master’s degree in public health from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

She established and managed a private practice in family and integrative medicine for many years, while also working as a family medicine preceptor at Maine Medical Center, and advisor for multiple MaineHealth-led initiatives, including the statewide Raising Readers program.

Dr. Belisle went on to work for Central Maine Healthcare and VA Maine. She subsequently earned an MBA at Champlain College and began doctoral work in leadership at the University of Central Arkansas. Dr. Belisle has been a longtime writer and editor for multiple non-medical publications.

Most recently, she served as medical director for Elmwood Primary Care and the primary care service line medical director for MGMC. She and her husband, Kevin, have six children, the youngest of whom is in college.
