Volunteers can make an impact in their communities in many ways. RSVP volunteer opportunities exist in:
Adult Literacy programs
RSVP's Thresholds and Decisions program teaches a five-step decision-making model to inmates who are within a few months of their release.
The program is taught by a team of volunteers who want to see people become responsible, productive members of society. Sessions are held in a group setting twice a week for four weeks.
Training, support and materials are provided by MaineGeneral RSVP. At the end of each program, a "graduation" is held to celebrate participants' completion of the program.
Through their involvement in the program, Thresholds graduates have the chance to create better lives for themselves and a safer, more productive community for us all.
