I have been a registered nurse at MaineGeneral Medical Center since 1981 – my entire nursing career. My clinical background has varied greatly during this time. I worked on the medical/surgical floors for several years before deciding to join the nursing float team. This allowed me to develop a wide range of skills.
I worked in the critical care units, the Emergency Department, pediatrics and the nursery. After 11 years at the hospital, I joined the MaineGeneral HomeCare Team. My experience and assessment skills allowed me to be a better homecare nurse.
My community- based nursing has allowed me to develop a holistic approach in caring for my patients. In HomeCare, I can have a positive influence on patient outcomes. My patients keep me passionate about providing nursing care in the home setting.
