Emergency Medicine Fellowship


MaineGeneral Medical Center (MGMC) has developed an Emergency Medicine Fellowship designed to train a recent family medicine or internal medicine residency graduate to work in Emergency Medicine.

The intent is to provide a high-quality educational experience that prepares the graduate to work full-time in an Emergency Department that does not require board certification in Emergency Medicine.

Fellowship Program Highlights

  • A one-year program that runs from July through June.
  • Reimbursement is commensurate with the level of Fellow plus full benefits over the year and 4 weeks of vacation.
  • The Fellow will be supervised by an Emergency Medicine physician at all times while working in the ED. Please read the curriculum outline for details.
  • Funds for educational expenses are available including:

     Airway course
     Ultrasound course
     ATLS, ACLS, PALS (if needed)

Application Information

Qualified applicants who are interested in working in Emergency Medicine in Maine and desire to participate in this program should email a CV and a letter describing your interest in the fellowship and explaining what you plan to do with the education to:
