Medication Safety

The number of adults of all ages taking at least one prescription medication is approximately 48 percent. However, medications also include non-prescriptions:
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Vitamins and minerals
  • Herbs
  • Supplements
  • Creams
  • Eye drops
  • Patches
  • Intrauterine devices

It is vital that you let your health care team know about all of your medications.

MEDSmart is a campaign designed to increase the number of patients bringing medication lists or their actual medications to every doctor's visit or hospital visit.
