Nursing and Social Services

Our staff of licensed professionals provides nursing care around the clock.

This group includes certified nursing assistants, medication technicians, licensed practical nurses and registered nurses.

All of these staff members have specific training in skilled rehab and nursing care.

Continuing education keeps our staff up to date on the latest information in the field of geriatric rehabilitation and dementia care.

We believe skill and knowledge are vital to quality care, as are compassion and empathy.

That's why individualized attention and understanding are so important to the resident-nurse relationship.

Social Services

Our social workers are resident advocates, experienced professionals who care for and understand the special needs of those requiring rehabilitation or long-term care.

Often, our social workers are a resident's and family's first contact with us.

Through a resident's stay at MaineGeneral Rehab, Social Services identifies and meets each resident's needs while serving as a liaison between the resident, family and staff.

The Social Service department coordinates discharge planning, taking individual and family needs into consideration.

This process often includes referrals to community agencies.
