Trained individuals within our program lead American Cancer Society, I Can Cope educational sessions.
These prorgrams address living and coping with cancer, work-related issues involving cancer, how to talk with your physician and questions about legal issues.

MaineGeneral also provides a "Feel Good" program where we have a collection of hairpieces, head wraps, meditation CDs, blankets and other items available to patients at no cost.
We work collaboratively with the American Cancer Society to provide patients with current information on cancer and other programs offered in our area.
In addition to ongoing groups and special events and programs, MaineGeneral hosts Cancer Survivors Day each September, an event dedicated to cancer survivors, patients, family, friends and caregivers.
It also holds the Walk for Hope each year in mid- to late October. The Walk raises more than $100,000 yearly for MaineGeneral's Breast Health Program and helps increase awareness of breast cancer.
