The Joint Commission


At MaineGeneral, we care about quality and safety, andd we are always looking for ways to give even better care and service to patients and families. That is why we welcome surveys by The Joint Commission.

The Joint Commission is the national accrediting body for hospitals and other health care delivery organizations.

Hospitals like MaineGeneral ask The Joint Commission to evaluate their facility and are charged a fee.

To make sure we maintain our quality, accreditation is not automatically renewed. A full accreditation survey is required at least every three years.

If you have a concern about safety or the quality of care at MaineGeneral, please don't hesitate to ask. We are happy to respond to your questions and concerns.
