MaineGeneral Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Care (MGRNC) is a community-owned and operated organization serving Kennebec Valley's rehabilitation and nursing needs.
We provide quality health services to those requiring long-term and specialized care.
Our goal is to offer opportunities and choices that allow people to live to their fullest potential.
Our facilities provide skilled rehabilitation care, extended nursing care and dementia care at two Augusta sites, Glenridge Drive and Gray Birch.
An additional facility, the Alzheimer's Care Center in Gardiner, serves individuals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
Part of MaineGeneral Health, MGRNC is governed by a board of directors that represents the community.
Rehabilitation Services
MaineGeneral Medical Center professionals provide onsite physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapies tailored to our residents' individual needs.
These professionals work with the family, as well as residents, to assist in the rehabilitation process.
Personal Services
We supply residents with personal laundry service. Telephone and cable television are available at an additional cost.
We also have a well-equipped, in-house beauty shop that is popular with members of the community at large.
Physician Care
Every resident must have a primary care physician who works with the entire health team in developing a plan of care.
Access to physician care is immediately available. Our own onsite medical director is a certified geriatrician who is available to our staff and residents' independent physicians for consultation.
Facilities
Our facilities are modern, well-maintained and in quiet areas away from urban Augusta.
We manage each facility individually to maintain a familiar, personal atmosphere.
Each building is very spacious, with large dining and activity rooms and individual day rooms. Most of our resident rooms are semi-private, though some private rooms are available.
We encourage residents to personalize their rooms with pictures and small items from home.
Our Glenridge site also hosts the Early Learning Center serving the children of MaineGeneral Health employees and others from the community.
