The Joint Commission

The Joint Commission is the national accrediting body for hospitals and other health care delivery organizations.

Hospitals ask The Joint Commission to evaluate their facility and are charged a fee.

Because accreditation is not automatically renewed, a full accreditation survey is required at least every three years.

If you have a concern regarding safety or the quality of care at MaineGeneral please don't hesitate to ask. We are happy to respond to your questions and concerns.

If there is something that we have been unable answer, you may contact The Joint Commission.
