Maternity Services

One of the most joyous events a family can experience is the birth of a child.

Whether you are thinking about having a baby or will soon become a new parent, MaineGeneral offers a range of pregnancy, childbirth and newborn care services, classes and amenities in our warm and inviting Maternal Child Health units.

We offer an array of birthing options, a comprehensive childbirth and parenting education program and support groups designed to complement your choices and family needs.

Our doctors provide personal, state-of-the-art obstetric care, including routine pregnancy, high-risk conditions, cesarean delivery and tubal ligations.

To complement our Maternity Services, MaineGeneral also relies on the skill and expertise of pediatric professionals trained to treat children from birth through adolescence.

Additionally, two MaineGeneral practices — Kennebec Pediatrics and Winthrop Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine — are devoted solely to newborn and children’s health.
