An array of information about hospital quality and safety is available to you on the internet from many sources including federal agencies, nonprofit and consumer organizations, and healthcare accrediting agencies.
At MaineGeneral, we believe you should have accurate information to help you select a hospital or other provider based on the quality of care you can expect to receive.
This section will help you compare MaineGeneral Medical Center with other hospitals in ways that are objective and measurable.
Please use this information to evaluate the care we provide and help you and your family make the best decisions about your healthcare.
We think we do an excellent job of providing the best in medical care. But don't take our word for it. Visit one of the many links found under MaineGeneral Quality Info to read publicly released reports about our level of care.
Clinical Quality Indicators
There are several quality measures used to evaluate how well hospitals perform on recommended treatment for three medical conditions: heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia.
They were selected because they are both common and serious and allow easy comparisons among healthcare organizations. We also provide information about infection prevention, another quality measure.
Other Measures
In addition to this information, we are also providing information on patient satifaction and safety, the quality of our nursing care, medication safety, as well as information on our charges and physician office care.
