Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) - Mental Health

Formerly known as the "Transition Program," MaineGeneral's Intensive Outpatient Program provides services for individuals with mental health and co-occurring disorders.

Services include therapy and support groups at the IOP's site at 7 Spruce Street in Augusta.

Group meetings are held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Client orientation is offered from 10:30 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

The IOP also offers two separate outpatient DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) groups held once weekly.  

Our Services

  • Psychiatry: Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Family and individual counseling

  • Coordination of goals and discharge planning

  • DBT groups held weekly (separate groups): Wednesday, 2 - 4:30 p.m.; Thursday, 1 - 3:30 p.m.

Storm Days
Please listen to your local radio or television station when storms threaten. If schools are closed in your area (or in Augusta), the IOP will also be closed.
