About the Endowment
The first piece of Harold Alfond's vision has become a reality — the Center for Cancer Care is built and providing premium care.

While the facility provides an inspiring, healing environment, equipped with the most advanced technology available, some patients cannot take advantage of these services without additional financial resources.

The Patient Endowment, established by Mr. Alfond just months before his death, was created to address these financial barriers — to assist in providing services for oncology patients who cannot afford the financial burden of transportation to and from appointments, the expense of lodging or the costly medications that battling cancer often requires.

As a community, we have been challenged to match Mr. Alfond's generosity.

The established endowment, worth $1 million, must be earned by our mutual commitment to caring.
