The MaineGeneral Medical Center (MGMC) Emergency Medicine Fellowship curriculum is as follows:
  • Seven months spent in the MGMC Emergency Departments
    • Both campuses (Augusta and Waterville)
  • Four (4) weeks of vacation will occur during ED rotations
  • CME and course time will occur during ED rotations
    • One (1) month on trauma service
    • One (1) month on a critical care service
    • One (1) month of either high acuity pediatric emergency medicine or pediatric critical care service
    • One (1) month of elective time (must be approved by the program director)
    • ACLS, PALS, ATLS, Airway course, Ultrasound course
    • Longitudinal research project with two (2) presentations (one (1) for grand rounds)
    • Longitudinal learning such as rounding in the ED, spending time with radiology, anesthesiology, ICU and EMS
  • Core Content Lecture Series provided by physician faculty. Tintinalli's Emergency Medicine textbook will be read by the end of the year.
  • All procedures and case logs will be kept by the participant.
