MaineGeneral offers orthopedic services at FirstPark in Oakland through MaineGeneral Health Associates Orthopedics.
John Thaller, MD, a wrist specialist, sees patients there two days a week and Jose Ramirez, MD, a general orthopedic surgeon who recently joined the practice, sees patients there full-time.
Located at 107 FirstPark Drive, the site also hosts Maine Bone and Joint Specialists, a private practice comprised of orthopedic surgeons Vaughn Collett, MD, Marc Golden, DO and Catherine Meikle, MD.
The two practices share waiting area space and have direct access to MaineGeneral's digital X-ray technology and rehabilitation services.
MaineGeneral also offers rehabilitation services at FirstPark, since many patients who have orthopedic care also need occupational and/or physical therapy.
Orthopedic patients can be scheduled for therapy the same day as their physician office visit, allowing them to get everything done at one place and in one visit.
The onsite rehabilitation services also allow physicians to see firsthand how patients are doing on the treadmill or exercising.
Therapists also can make on site custom splints the physicians may require.
